I Miss My Death: In Memories
Lord K: Opera vocals. Piano. Goth. And completely devoid of being anything close to ok. It’s actually absolutely terrible. 1
Ironpants: I’d rather shove a pan flute up my asshole and have someone play “Mio my mio” on it, than listen to this. 1
sincan: Balls, I stare at my balls and they stare back! 2
sly: The best possible outcome of the unrest in Ukraine is that the people who created this are fucking killed. Oops, did I just say that aloud? FUCK YOU
The Duff: So. Fucking. Good. 0
Kaoskult: Secret serpent
Lord K: I love the name of this band. That’s more than I can say about their death/black metal. 3
Ironpants: Yeah, it is indeed a cool name. They have some cool shit going on here and there, but the production and vocals kills it. 4
sincan: Well executed black metal. However it lacks strong tracks. 5
sly: When will a subgenre finally be created called “boring metal”? 3
The Duff: Very subpar black metal. 2
Raus & Perunwit: Split CD
Lord K: Tip of the day: Do not check these bands out. Ever. 3 for Raus’s somewhat industrial and blackish metal. 2 for Perunwit’s… eh.. whatever it’s supposed to be.
Ironpants: I’d rather have these guys come over and play “Through the fire and flames” on my nutsack, than listen to this. 3
sincan: Splits can be fun but they can obviously also be boring. 3
sly: 3 points. They can fight each other to the death to see who gets the bulk of the score. That’d be a lot more interesting than this split.
The Duff: More black metal; not bad, a tenuous ‘industrial’ vibe. Oh shit, this is a split. I’m not going back, man. 4,5
Spatial: Silence
Lord K: The driest guitar sound in 2014 goes to Spatial. They also deserve a few awards for fucken sucking it big time. 2
Ironpants: I´d rather shove a clarinet up my dickhole and have someone play “Fermented offal discharge” on it, than listen to this. 3
sincan: Skip the clean vocals aaaand some of the other parts as well. 3
sly: Skip it all. 1.5
The Duff: Goddamn it. I’m sorry to have crushed your dreams. 0
Thy Flesh: Thymiama mannan
Lord K: Death/black once again. Sounds pretty much like every other decent band in this genre. Not better, not worse. 4
Ironpants: Not too shabby, but when I listen to black metal I usually listen to better black metal than this. 5,5
sincan: Well, I hear some Watain references here and there but I prefer the original anyday. 6
sly: Last time this was sent in I said “high quality, orthodox black metal with a nice dark atmosphere and an early ’90s Marduk vibe. 7.5 “
The Duff: More black metal; on any other day this would be quite common, but somehow Thy Flesh is comparatively the best band in all of existence after what I’ve had to listen to this edition; really reminds me of Watain and thus of Dissection, good shit. 6,5
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
